ABOUT FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF LYONS

HISTORY
First Christian Church of Lyons has been a part of the Lyons community since 1882, when a small group of believers gathered with a shared desire to worship, study Scripture, and serve their growing town. For more than 140 years, the church has stood as a place of faith, fellowship, and hope—weathering seasons of change while holding firmly to the message of Jesus Christ.
Throughout its history, FCC Lyons has been known for its commitment to biblical teaching, mission work, and community care. Generations of families have been baptized, married, and spiritually formed within its walls. The church has expanded, renovated, and adapted over the decades, yet its purpose has remained the same: to know Jesus and make His Name known.
Today, First Christian Church continues to honor its heritage by embracing both tradition and fresh expression—gathering in worship, growing in faith, and serving Lyons with the love and compassion of Christ. As we look toward the future, we celebrate the legacy built before us and remain committed to carrying the Gospel forward for generations to come.
